How our prints are made
Having enthusiastically embraced the digital photography revolution, we make the majority of our photo prints in-house with our superb Epson Stylus Pro 3800 pigment printer.
This uses papers of any width up to 17 inches and as long as 25 inches. (See “Sizes and Prices” at right for a complete list of what we offer.)
With Epson’s K3 inksets colors are rich and blacks are deep, yielding very satisfying images. Because the inks are pigment-based, not fade-prone dyes, industry estimates predict our prints will last at least as long as those made with more traditional chemistries — as long as 200 years, providing they are properly preserved from sunlight and atmospheric contaminants.
However, we are happy to accommodate clients who prefer the traditional silver-halide process. As with pigment prints too large for our 3800 to handle, the work must be carried out by commercial labs and the cost must be added to our prices. Please ask for a quote.
