Good to see the “Lyons roaming”! We too had a great holiday with the kids (our son Chris and our favorite daughter in law, Kristen) home for a few days to celebrate Shirley’s birthday and Christmas. This year Kristen received her MBA from Kelly School at Indiana and Chris received his PhD from the Warsaw School of Economics. (All I earned this year was a bill from the IRS!)

It would be great to see you at Daytona in Jan. If not, still keep writin’ and roamin’ and of course, keep your speed up!

Today, I finally found the time to settle in with “Fast Lines” and read it cover to cover. It brought back lots of memories, some poignant. It’s a great book and I’m looking forward to 55 more stories in the sequel. And thanks for the autograph. Then, after a nap on the couch with the cat, your Lyons Holiday Letter shows up in the mailbox. Wow! HAPPY HOLIDAYs!

So sorry to hear about Spooky. We lost our irreplaceable Frank (tuxedo Norwegian Forest cat) right after the Laguna Historics in ’09. We waited, then adopted a new guy, Oscar (part Maine Coon) a year ago July. Really enjoyed “Fast Lines” (the book) and it’s great to be involved in “racing journalism” again, but I’m humbled to read the Tales of Pete. Have a great holiday season & may we cross paths soon…

You two have had way too much year this one …

I’m planning on taking a few of your above ‘graphs, changing the names, dates, and (in some cases) places and then rustling up my own Holiday Newsletter …

Seriously, We love you both and always look forward to hearing about your year.

Ours went by so darn fast that I should have taken notes (like Pete in that little tiny notebook in that almost undecipherable writing) because I barely remember last week!

Sometimes I don’t think we know how lucky we are. Nice wife and family. I wrote to you earlier and you did not remember me from those years. I worked on the Thermo King team, Sprite team and have along list of drivers during the 10 years of working on the cars. My last 2 years were Chief Mechanic for the Gerhardt Thermo King team. This is where I remember you hanging around the most. For sure Pheonix, because we feed you at the track one time. I have lots of photos during my 45 years of racing. And if you are interested in seeing a few. I can share. My sons name is Boston Reid and made it all the way to the Hendrix Nascar Bush team. Any have many things to share. If you are still writing, I have a great idea for a book that I hope someone does before he passes. Let me know if you have any interest. Wonderful words, fantastic pictures and warm heart. We had a hard year in Japan, by big earthquake and tsunami on last March and lost nearly 20, 000 lives, but we are awaking and back to normal life. Time goes quite fast and I am now 60 years old, you can imagine how I was young when we are in London in 70′s and 80′s. Well, I hope you and Lorna have a wonderful year ahead and hope to see you some day!
